Outlaw's Bridge Universalist ChurchWelcome to Outlaw’s Bridge Universalist Church, a   voice for Liberal Religion in Wayne, Duplin and surrounding counties.  Every Sunday of the year we welcome people of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, abilities, political persuasions and economic classes to join us here as we transform lives through compassion, service and fellowship.

Since 1905, we have stood at the corner of NC Highway 111 and Outlaw’s Bridge Road in northern Duplin county, providing a place of liberal worship for all those people who don’t want to be told what to believe, but who want to find their own path to that which we call God.

We hope you will find within these pages, something that interests you, intrigues you or makes you want to come visit us. You will be welcomed with friendly smiles, warm hearts and open arms.

Our mission is to welcome all to grow with us in love, spirit, and wisdom - transforming lives through compassion, service, and fellowship.

We are a rural liberal church:
• Encouraging freedom of thought and a fearless search for God
• Emphasizing the goodness of all people
• Inspiring us to do right out of love

Quote of the Week

"I am not religious," says my neighbor,
as he hoes the rows between
his beans and corn.

"Oh yes, you are," I say to myself.

To plant a seed is an act of faith.
To collect compost is a response
of gratitude to the creator.
To water, fertilize, and mulch the ground
is an expression of religious responsibility.
To kneel down and pull weeds is a prayer.
To harvest is to participate in the
fullness and grace of the spirit.
To protect and replenish creation
is to love God.

"I am not religious," says my neighbor.

Yes, you are, I say.
